After an early career managing retail businesses, I moved into the area of business sales in 2001 – specialising in franchise sales specifically. Over the next couple of years I achieved some very strong results and established myself in the franchising sector as perhaps the most successful and well-known franchise salesperson in Australia.
From here, I grew the business and started to develop plans for future expansion – Finn Franchise Brokers. In 2004, my good friend Len Ferguson decided to take the leap himself, and opened his Brisbane Finn Franchising office. Since then, we’ve developed a franchise model for the business and opened several offices across Australia – to the point where all areas are nearly sold out and doing very well.
We’ve grown our network of contacts in the franchising sector, sold a lot of franchises, and developed our operations manuals, systems, scripts, procedures, website, online sales management system, and marketing tools to the exceptional standard we use today. All of this accumulated knowledge and experience has assisted us tremendously in creating Finn Business Sales.
Along the way we saw the opportunity within the sale of independent businesses (non-franchise businesses). This area of the market is serviced by general business brokers, and there is almost no single-brand that is present in this market. Almost all the business brokers are stand-alone practices. This presents an opportunity in terms of branding, marketing power, and working together as part of a larger network.
We plan to replicate exactly what we have already achieved in franchise sales and open many Finn Business Sales offices across Australia. This way, over time we can grow to dominate the market of selling small businesses, just like we dominate the market of selling franchises.
